Outline is a fast team knowledge base, and since February 2026 every workspace ships with an MCP server built in — which turns it from a place you store briefs and SOPs into something an agent can search, read and write to directly. That is the difference between a wiki that documents your process and one that participates in it: an agent can pull the house style guide before drafting, then file the finished brief back without a human copy-pasting. It also has an open REST API and webhooks. Self-hosting is available but licensed under BUSL, so you can run it for your own team and never resell it as a hosted service.
